Looking for piano lessons or private voice lessons in Saint Paul? St. Paul Music Lessons is the home studio of Sara Diedrich. I have been teaching piano and voice lessons here since 2002. I offer lessons for students of all ages and abilities, classical training and popular music styles.
St.Paul Music Lessons is a studio located in a private home on Goodrich at Richmond Ave's in the West 7th/XCEL Center Area of St. Paul, MN. Just 2 blocks from West 7th Street in the Little Bohemia Neighborhood we are:

New students may begin at any time, provided there is space, and tuition is prorated. These are private, one on one lessons.
Piano lessons available for ages 5+
Voice lessons available for ages 14+
If you have a younger child interested in lessons, please message me to discuss. These ages are guidelines and I can make exceptions for students who are ready at an early age.
All new and potential students may meet with the teacher for a free one-time lesson preview. This is an informal meeting to meet the teacher, ask questions and review the registration forms.

This is all I do, and I'm committed to making your lesson experience truly rewarding.
Tuition and Cancellation Policy: Please schedule your lessons carefully. Your tuition payment guarantees your weekly time-slot which cannot be re-used in your absence. Students are expected to be at lessons each week and will be charged for every lesson included on the studio calendar.
Refunds are not given for student absences. In the event of a teacher cancellation a make-up lesson will be offered.
Lesson make-ups are not available for lessons cancelled within 24 hours. Pre-arranged make-ups due to student cancellations are limited to the teacher's availability and schedule.
2023-2024 LESSON TUITION
Piano Tuition Rates are for school-aged students taking weekly lessons and include
- 31 School-Year lessons
- 3 Hours of Summer instruction
- 2 Musicianship classes
- 2 annual Recitals
- Preparation for MMTA performance or skill testing events
Sara’s Piano Studio $160/month 30 minutes, $220/month 45 minutes.
10 Payments Sep thru June: includes 6 summer lessons, 2 Musicianship classes/2 recitals

Individual, single lessons are available for adults/teens who do not want or need weekly lessons, or who need greater flexibility.
Piano $40/30-min $55/45 min
Voice $40/30 min $55/45 min $65/60 min
Lesson Schedule
I offer private, one-on-one lessons, so new students may begin lessons at any time, if there are openings. 30 and 45-minute lessons are available Monday-Friday.
Lessons offered Mon, Tues, Thur, Fri 7-11 AM Mon-Fri 2-7 PM
I teach approximately 32 weeks during the school year and 10 weeks during the summer. Piano lessons are scheduled once weekly with breaks generally corresponding to the Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS) calendar. Summer lessons are much more flexible, however piano students are expected to take 3 hours of instruction over the 3 months of summer.
Voice lessons are available for students age 14 and older. Voice lessons can be scheduled either weekly or on as as-needed basis. Interested students can schedule a one-time introductory lesson.
ADULT Piano students are welcome and encouraged! I love teaching adults how to play piano/connect with music and work with your preferred musical styles as well as offer scheduling flexibility.

Adult students frequently take lessons as their schedule permits, whether that's every other week, or 3 weeks a month, or working around their swing shifts. I have early morning lessons, afternoon and evening times available, and I'm happy to work around your schedule.
For PIANO LESSONS: The most commonly asked question here is 'DO I NEED A PIANO?' to have lessons.... The answer is, you need a piano or digital piano in your home. 88 keys is ideal, (or 76 at minimum) with a PEDAL, in order to practice for piano lessons. A suitable instrument that plays and feels like a real piano is essential in order for the student to practice and progress. If you aren’t ready for/don’t have space for an acoustic piano, a digital console piano is a great alternative.
